Sun
High
Waves dance
Children playing, laughing
Sandy footprints trace the shore
Seagulls argue, effortlessly gliding above in endless arcs
Listen, whispers of the breeze
Echoing children’s joy
Warm sand
Calm
Relax

My response to the Under the Moon Poetry Challenge
#6 A Fibonacci Spiral poetry challenge

Thank you, Tree Langdon for inspiring me to reflect upon my vacation along the coast of Maine this year. An ocean beach is my happy place. My favorite beaches are in Maine. I love them for the solitude of early morning, evening, and night. I love them for the life and sounds of people playing on the beach, splashing in the water, interacting with the waves. The freshness of the salty air, the smell of seaweed and sunscreen. There is life everywhere in the brightness of day and just the sounds of the waves in the darkness and wee hours before the beach fills.

I told you I was a slow poet. The Challenge as passed, but it’s never too late for a poem.
